What to expect with Telehealth?
What is Telehealth?
Through Telehealth, we can connect all Australians with a specialist Dermatology team; all you need is a phone. At the time of your appointment, our nurses and Dermatologists will connect with you via phone call or Telehealth link (video link) via a link you receive via text message. Our services aim at reducing your travel time and enabling you to access a specialist.
What is included in my pre-consult appointment?
After receiving an email link to book your pre-consult appointment, our nurse will talk through your medical history and discuss the process, your specific needs and the next steps.
We will liaise with you to ensure all of your medical history and concerns are documented and we have appropriate images ready for your appointment with the Dermatologist.
Do I need a referral?
Whilst a referral from a GP is recommended, it is not required. With a valid referral, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of up to $42.30 for any future Telehealth appointments requested by the Dermatologist.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
To avoid a cancellation fee of $100.00, if you’re not able to make your appointment time, please contact us within 24 hours of your booked appointment.
Will I see the Dermatologist in person?
This service is a Telehealth service. We will connect you with the Dermatologist either over a phone call or through a video-call. You will see the dermatologists via the video-call. You are not required to travel to a clinic. If you require a biopsy or additional testing, we will refer you to someone close to you to complete.
What if I need to see the Dermatologist for a follow up?
Please note only your initial appointment with the Dermatologist is included in this first payment and any additional appointments are billed separately at a rate of $200 per appointment, rebates of up to $42.30 are available with a valid referral.
