Meet Dr Leith Banney
With extensive training in both Australia and the UK, including Edinburgh, Cambridge and Brisbane, Dr Banney has over 2 decades of experience dedicated to serving regional communities.
During her tenure in Cairns, Dr Banney served as the sole dermatologist north of Townsville for 3 years, demonstrating her commitment to addressing the dermatological needs of the region. Currently as Lead Dermatologist at Sunshine Coast University Hospital, she leads innovative initiatives and research efforts, including the establishment of a skin cancer multidisciplinary team meeting and Dermatopathology meetings.
Dr Banney also mentors registrars and serves as senior clinical lecturer at Griffith University School of Medicine. Her expertise encompasses general dermatology, complex medical dermatology, biologic medications and teledermatology.
In addition Dr Banney is recognized for her leadership in skin cancer management particularly with high risk patients.

This is a private billing medical practice. Payment for consultations is required in full before your consultation to confirm your appointment.

Initial consultation with Dermatologist (new patient or existing patient with new condition/referral or where patient was last seen over 12 months ago)
$300 (Medicare rebate $84.15) -
Review consultation with Dermatologist (existing or ongoing skin problem within 12 months of initial consultation)
$200 (Medicare rebate $42.30) -
Medicare offers a rebate for most services. You can present your receipt to Medicare to claim this rebate. If you are registered with Medicare Online, we can process this for you, for your convenience.
Medicare rebate (as at 1 July 2024):
New consult rebate: $84.15 with valid referral
Follow-up consult rebate: $42.30 with valid referral -
For complex or extended consultations, or where multiple skin issues are addressed, a higher consultation fee may be applied. The fee is determined by your treating Dermatologist at the time of your consultation.
